How it started

With several years of experience of political struggle on the Youtube channel Everything about Kurdistan, our team decided to reach out for a bigger audience. Looking at acquaintances, we discovered how many, aspecially from the diaspora lost out on the Kurdish cause for the gaming world – so why not combine them both.

Learning Unreal Engine

With no pre experience with game and mod creation, two of our developers have taken a 12 month payed course in Game Development with focus on the Unreal Engine 5 software. We have also spent many hundreds of hours on Youtube and Skillshare to further advance our experience and knowledge in both Unreal Engine but also other tools that helps us on the journey.

Planning the project

Rise of Corduene is an enormous project. With an epic detailed lore, hundreds of places to discover and a very complex gaming mechanics which lets the player go on a gaming experience without any really ending, unless you are looking for finishing the game through the main quest line.

As a big fan of the Harry Potter and Game of Thrones books I love lore creation. At the time, the rest of the team learned working with Unreal Engine, I was busy writing down my idéas for the Rise of Corduene lore. Very hard work stands behind the final product of the game lore.
