The Survival Aspect

As you roam around Kurdistan, you will find it impossible to progress without learning how to survive. In the hands of the brutal invaders, Kurdistan have become a dangerous wild world, filled with enemies and evil. You need to learn to survive by both living and fighting.

Thirst and hunger:

One of the first problems you will encounter playing Rise of Corduene will be thirst and hunger.
Your character have icons at the top left corner of the game screen, two of them indicating how thirsty and hungry your character is.
The icons shifts between being green, yellow and red, indicating how thirsty and hungry your character actually are. In order to not die, you will need
to drink and eat in time.

There are many options for this. Water can be found in lots of areas around Kurdistan, but if you would find yourself far from any water source, you can
be prepared with a Kurdish Waterbag which you can fill up and bring with you. You can also build wells at your base in order to always have a water source closeby.

By hunting or harvesting from the nature, you character can access different stuff to eat. Ingredients can also be used to make delisious Kurdish meals in the kitchens. In order to not die from food poisoning, it is important to cook the meat before eating it. When you get the hang of it, you will be able to cook everything from dolma to make the perfect Kurdish bread and téa.

Encumbrance:

After playing for a little while, you might notice the third circle on the screen shining red. That indicated that you are over encumbered, meaning that you are wearing to much items. By clicking I or Tab, you will get to your character screen, on the top left corner you can see a green bar, indicating how much you wear.

You never want to get over 99% on this meter, because when over encumbered, you will move slow and lose lots of stamina, a state which can be very dangerous out in the wild. In order to move freely, you will either need to drop some items, or increasing the Saladin’s Expertise attribute, which you can find in the attribute screen. Remember that your armor also adds to your character’s normal weight, dropping down to a light armor makes you faster but less protected while the heavy armor makes you heavier but stronger.

Weather:

Keeping the right clothes on your character is vital in order to survive. Moving around in the warm Arabian desert requires some type or armors while the cold temperature in the Ararat Mountains require others. When you click on a certain armor piece, you will be able to see what temperature boost the piece gives. You can also survive in the cold by having spiced food or alcohol which keeps you warm or ice cold drinks in the desert which keeps you cold.

The Sandstorm is a sorcerous aspect which is explained in the lore of the game. It comes regulary across the Rojava and Bashuri areas and will cause damage on anyone walking near it. In order to survive, you need to wear a Kurdish Protection Mask, these can be unlocked at Lv 30. Before reaching Lv 30 you must rely on hiding in protected areas such as caves, houses or your own camp (if it is closed).
